MPT supplies thick film microcircuits, from printing thick film substrates, complete assembly, to functional and environmental testing. Thick film capabilities include multilayer of conductors, line/spacing up to 1-2 mils, via through and via filled. Laser trimming capabilities: kerf width .001 - .003", 0.1% tolerance, 50 ppm measuring accuracy and 4 ppm ratio. MPT has clean areas of class 1000 for pre-cap inspection and class 100,000 for assembly. For commercial application, MPT has developed 1-2 mils Ag conductor line/spacing on thick film technology to replace thin film substrates. This new process reduces cost substantially for MPT’s commercial product line. MPT has implemented automated assembly processes for die mounting and wire bonding, as well as computerizing and automating many functional tests.

MPT has recently developed a series of RF modules for cellular communication and personal communication service (PCS); more precisely, control components of feed forward amplifiers used in base stations. MPT’s VA (Vector Attenuator), APS (Attenuator-Phase Shifter combined) and LNA (Low Noise Amplifier) have been accepted enthusiastically by designers of feed forward amplifiers in PCS industries. All of MPT’s RF modules are surfaced-mount devices, using innovated thick film process and automated assembly line procedures to enhance competition with commercial products. Even though these products are for commercial application only, they are manufactured under facility and processes qualified for MIL-PRF-38534 and certified to ISO9001; screened and tested per MIL-STD-883 with selective testing as follows:

  • Internal visual inspection
  • Destruct bond pull test (3 pcs/lot)

  • Stabilization bake

  • Bubble detection

  • Constant acceleration (if necessary)

  • Temp cycling test (0° C to 70° C; 3 pcs/lot)

  • Pre-seal and final electrical testing
